The Summer 2024 Box
Summer is the perfect time of year to linger outdoors as you enjoy the sunshine and revel in the beauty of nature. We hope the items in this box will help you savour all the special moments the season has to offer.
Also, we have a bit of news. After five years of carefully curating quarterly seasonal boxes, we are transitioning away from our subscription model to focus on special edition boxes. You’ll still be able to weave hygge throughout your year with our boxes for International Hygge Day, Mother’s Day, winter holidays and more. Thank you for letting us bring hygge into your home and life, and we hope to continue this cozy journey with you.
Let nature bloom in your home
Though there’s something so satisfying about tending your plants outside and watching them grow, we also love bringing nature into the home as much as possible. We encourage you to do the same with two of the items included in this final seasonal box.
First, there’s a small flower pot by Rig Tig in a gorgeous minimalist color scheme that would allow any flowers or greenery to shine. Fill it with a bit of soil and sprinkle in the edible flower seeds from To & From Gift Co. You’ll have the opportunity to watch as the seeds slowly transform into a beautiful flower blend featuring lavender, marigold and pansy. Growing something from seed to blossom is such a good reminder to slow down and appreciate the little things in life. And, once they’ve bloomed, you can use some of the flowers to make your summer dishes a bit more magical, scattering them atop a salad or sweet treat.
Incorporate the scents of summer
Everyone has certain aromas they associate with each season, and for summer, we wanted to focus on products with fruity, vibrant scents. First, to create a summery hygge vibe at home, light the lemon sea salt candle by Hygge Candle Co. The limited edition coconut soy candle has a refreshing, citrusy aroma and a wooden wick that crackles like a real fire, automatically adding a cozy feel to whatever space it's burning in.
And, since we've included something to make your home as hygge as possible, we also had to add a few items for when you head out on summer adventures, two products from MaeMae that are both useful and indulgent.
The watermelon lip balm will leave your lips feeling nourished, thanks to the coconut oil and jojoba seed oil in the formulation, and the plastic-free packaging is ideal for the environmentally-conscious consumer. And, since summer comes along with certain pests that can sting or bite, we also wanted to equip you with the brand’s Sting Ease and Repellant. It comes in a stunning glass bottle with bamboo lid, and the rolling applicator makes it easy to apply on the go. The product features a blend of peppermint and castor oils, with the peppermint aroma helping to repel insects while the castor oil soothes any bites courtesy of its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
Head out to your favourite spot
While you may be limited to curling up in front of the fireplace or in your favourite cozy chair inside during the chilly seasons of the year, when summer hits, the temperature skyrockets and you’re able to spend more time outdoors. Make the most of it by heading out to your favourite spot with a few hygge treats in tow.
Chocolate chip cookies are an absolute classic for a reason — they’re delicious any time of year, and the chocolate chip cookie mix by Lazy Bake allows even the most novice of bakers to whip up a fresh batch. You may want to bring a few napkins, though, as the chocolate chips in the cookies might get irresistibly gooey on a hot day. Quarterly subscribers can pair their sweet treat with some Pink Lemonade Iced Tea by Tealish. It’s hydrating, refreshing, and a stunning rosy hue due to the inclusion of beets and berries.
And, while you’re enjoying the summer breeze and sunshine, why not get whisked away by a good book? Set in Scotland’s Isle of Skye, Under a Summer Skye by Sue Moorcroft follows the protagonist Thea on her journey of romance and self-discovery, and will have you yearning for a real life trip to the stunning locale.
