While we can hardly wait for the sound of leaves crunching under our boots and the smell of spiced apple cider lingering in the air on a crisp day, there’s something bittersweet about bidding farewell to summer. The warm breeze, the blooming flowers, the sunshine-filled days — there’s so much to love about the season that we decided to offer a limited edition box to help you hold on to that summer feeling (although you won’t want to miss the autumnal offerings in our seasonal box either!).
Bring flavor and fun to your kitchen
Make use of all the late summer produce that is in abundance at your local farmers’ market with this clever maple berry crisp kit from Simply Delish. You can pick up several cups of whatever fruit strikes your fancy — from summery mixtures like peaches and blueberries to the more autumnal combination of apples and cranberries. All you have to do is combine the fruit with the mixture, a splash of maple syrup and a bit of butter, and you’ll have a bubbling treat bursting with flavour in no time at all.
We also returned to Winnipeg-based bakery Flour & Flower, a brand that has been featured in our previous boxes, for a whimsical product perfect for the season. Scent is incredibly powerful, and the simple act of introducing a few calming aromas into your day can help remind you to be more mindful.
We worked with Siglarr Viking Naturals to create a custom essential oil blend with hygge in mind. The mixture of energizing grapefruit, exotic jasmine, musky ambrette and carrot seed is the perfect scent to roll on throughout your day. The small rollerball packaging can be easily tucked into your purse or pocket before you head out the door.
When you’re winding down before bed, take the jar of lavender sugar scrub from MBM Home and Life Co. into your bath or shower with you.
